You are invited to an Open Evening in Glasgow Caledonian University

At Glasgow Caledonian we are developing a work based leaning programme for trade union activists. It works through linking your academic studies to the challenges of union activity in the workplace. With the majority of this programme delivered via Work Based Learning - you must be a member of a union and actively engaged in trade union activities to register.
The course will cover:
Personal and Professional Development and Work Based Learning
Contemporary Issues: Political and Economic
Equalities
Lifelong Learning in Scotland
Employment Law
Work Based Integrated Project

Requirements for participating in Work Based Learning
You need to be in a union and engaged in trade union activities
You need to be able to produce evidence of having received the award of HNC or equivalent (120 SHE1 credits) before being considered for a place. Your HNC needs to be approved as suitable for entry to this programme in terms of currency and subject discipline.
You need to be able to access and use a computer. For example, to receive University e-correspondence and to word process your assignments and projects for assessment.
If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of satisfactory competence in written and spoken English (IELTS 6.00/TOEFLS 550 score or equivalent may be required).
Fees
Fees are £250 per module. To help you manage your finances we can arrange for you to pay your fees by direct debit. You will become a part-time registered student of Glasgow Caledonian University with access to all the University's student facilities. Some students may be able to access financial support from their trade unions.
