As part of the Scottish Executive "Enterprise in Education" Initiative, the STUC are training groups of trade union reps/officials/organisers/members to take part in a programme of school visits.

The Project involves groups 2 or 3 trade unionists visiting schools and presenting training sessions to designated classes with the support of the school and the benefit of a TUC Education accredited training course.

The first group of 24 "Unions into Schools" reps have participated in the TUC Education course and a number of School visits and classroom presentations have taken place throughout the country with excellent feedback received from reps, pupils and schools.

Training for the next group of "Unions into Schools" reps is scheduled to commence on Monday 22 January 2007, at Stow College, Stow West Campus, 75 Hotspur Street, Maryshill, Glasgow, for a block of 6 Mondays, concluding on Monday 26 February. The reps will thereafter provide visits to schools and this will then be followed by a 2 day feedback course at Stow College on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 April, 2007.
