Planning for Scotland’s Economic Recovery
Through Union Learning
In response to the economic challenges currently facing Scotland, trade unions will meet in Dundee on Thursday (19 November) to explore solutions through workplace learning. Over 200 Union Learning Representatives from workplaces across Scotland will gather for the Annual Scottish Union Learning Conference.
Delegates will consider the theme “Union Learning: Contributing to Scotland’s Economic Future” during the one day event.
Sylvia O’Grady, Scottish Union Learning Manager, said, “Our experience shows that it is those who lack skills and qualifications who predominantly lose their jobs in an economic downturn and are then unable to find new employment. Through Union Learning Reps, trade unions are uniquely positioned to help address gaps in skills provision and develop the full potential of individual workers.”
