Memorandum of Understanding between The Open University and the STUC

The STUC and The Open University in Scotland recognise the distinct contribution each organisation makes towards education and lifelong learning within Scottish society. Both parties are committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for trade union members throughout Scotland. The STUC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Open University on 8th June 2007. Download the MOU to view the document in its entirety.

The Open University provides support to Union Learning Reps including:

  • Leaflets for your members
  • Posters
  • A dedicated website page which will guide you through the partnership and answer your questions
  • Standard presentations for employees
  • The opportunity to request additional support for OU workplace learning groups
  • The opportunity to request an OU tutor to support your learning at work days, subject to availability
