Talk Money Week 2023
This November MAS are joining the UK-wide ‘Talk Money Week’ campaign which aims to encourage conversations about finances between every generation. As we enter the winter months, with uncertainty surrounding winter fuel prices and further impacts of the cost of living crisis, discussing finances and money has never been more important.
From the 6th to 10th of November, Talk Money Week is encouraging the public to ‘Do One Thing’ in relation to talking about finances. Following this theme, MAS’ Financial Wellbeing Team are hosting a dedicated webinar on Buy-Now-Pay-Later and Credit.
The session will take place on Tuesday 7th November at 2pm-3pm. This webinar also forms part of our 'Ask the Expert' series, as we are joined by Experian. Our Financial Wellbeing Officer, Rebecca, will provide some information on Buy-Now-Pay-Later services and some of the research into how we use these services. James, from Experian, will then provide some information on your credit report, credit scores and look at upcoming changes in how BNPL services will affect your credit report and score.
To sign up for this webinar, register via the Eventbrite link here. Make sure to follow MAS via Social media for further Talk Money Week information.
Money Advice Wellbeing Research
Money Advice Scotland are pleased to announce that our Advice Workforce Wellbeing Survey is now open, and we invite all who are working in the money advice sector to participate by responding to this survey. As the name change suggests, this year’s research is extended to include advice-adjacent fields as well as advisers and managers to be more inclusive of the diverse roles that work within money advice services. This research will inform our fourth Adviser Wellbeing Index which will paint a picture of how and why workplace wellbeing is impacted in the sector.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and can be responded to by clicking on the button below. Whether you’re an administrator, adviser, trainer, manager or CEO, your feedback is valued, and we thank you in advance for your participation.

Adviser Wellbeing Training
As part of our Adviser Wellbeing project, we are delighted to share that there are still spaces available for training taking place throughout November to December.
The lead-up to Christmas can be quieter for many, with client work and cases increasing in the new year. The courses available this winter will enable advisers to build practices and techniques to care for their wellbeing in 2024.
This November, MAS are hosting two 'Protecting Your Wellbeing' sessions on the 15th and 16th of November. December will also see two Stress Management and Resilience sessions on the morning and afternoon of 7th December.
