The Learning Fund
The Learning Fund finances collective learning provision. Delivery of these learning opportunities is predominantly in the workplace or at an agreed alternative location, but, where this is not possible, online learning can also take place.
The Learning Fund is funding of last resort and unions will need to demonstrate that all other avenues of funding have been exhausted before applying to the Fund.
Application Process
Applications to the Learning Fund will be received on a rolling programme basis and must be submitted by trade unions rather than by individual learners.
Courses will be put out to competitive tender to a list of approved STUC suppliers and contracts for delivery will be awarded following consideration and approval by the Learning Fund Advisory Panel which is made up of Scottish Union Learning Board members.
Learning Fund Application Forms
Applications to the Learning Fund must be signed by an authorised full time trade union official and emailed to us.
The current Learning Fund programme will run from April 2024 until March 2025.
Learning Fund Course Application Forms (LUPS and H&I) for 2024-25 can be downloaded from the 'Related resources' section of this page.
