Learner of the Year 2023 - Nominations now open for the 2023 STUC Union Rep Awards

The nomination process for the Scottish Union Learning Learner of the Year 2023 is now open.

Unions are invited to submit STUC Union Rep Awards 2023 nominations before the deadline of Friday, 24th February 2023.

The Learner of the Year award will be presented at STUC Congress, in April 2023 in Dundee, allowing Scottish Union Learning and the nominating union to recognise and celebrate the achievements of trade union learners across Scotland.

All unions are encouraged to submit at least one nomination in recognition of the success of their learners and the role the union has played in their learning journey. A case study providing information on the learner and the support provided by the union will be used in future SUL publications and will feature on the website.

Scottish Union Learning will present this award to a trade unionist who represents the most positive aspects of being a learner. The learner will be recognised on a basis of representing the thousands of union learners throughout Scotland. Nominations on behalf of a group of learners will only be considered where it can be clearly demonstrated that the collective experience was the most significant factor of the group’s learning journey.
