Nominations for Learner of the Year Award 2018 are now open

The nomination process for the Learner of the Year Award 2018 is now open. Unions are invited to submit nominations before the deadline of Friday, 21st September 2018.

This Award is presented at the Scottish Union Learning Conference each year, allowing Scottish Union Learning and the nominating union to recognise and celebrate the achievements of trade union learners across Scotland.

All unions are encouraged to submit at least one nomination in recognition of the success of their learners and the role the union has played in their learning journey. A case study providing information on the learner and the support provided by the union will be used in future SUL publications and will feature on the website.

Scottish Union Learning will present this award to a trade unionist who represents the most positive aspects of being a learner. The learner will be recognised on a basis of representing the thousands of union learners throughout Scotland. Nominations on behalf of a group of learners will only be considered where it can be clearly demonstrated that the collective experience was the most significant factor of the group’s learning journey. The award will be presented at the Scottish Union Learning Conference, which will take place on 13 November 2018 in Glasgow.

To apply, please fill out the nomination form that is available in the Related Resources section of this page.
