Following feedback from unions, Scottish Union Learning has re-developed our ULR Development Days/Local Learning Forums and re-launched these as Union Learning Development Days. Taking place biannually, the Union Learning Development Days will have a focussed workshop, and will look at how to support and develop local union-led learning activity. The local Trades Union Councils will contribute to the discussions on the need for local networks of trade union reps and activists.

Union Learning is organising this latest Union Learning Development day for Highlands. Everyone is welcome to attend. The theme of the session Challenging Racism and Discrimination in the Workplace. We have secured funding through the United Workplaces Fund to invite Show Racism the Red Card to facilitate a workshop which will look at three key issues :
- where misinformation comes from
- the negative impact of racism and discrimination
- how, within a union-led learning context, discrimination can be tackled.
Following this session, Scottish Union Learning will facilitate a discussion around using learning opportunities to support equality and safety at work. Everyone is welcome to attend including those not in formal rep roles.
