Skills Development Scotland is delivering an all-age service drawing on a combination of face-to-face, web-based and telephone services to meet individual needs, while those requiring extra support will receive one-to-one coaching.
The interactive web service My World of Work is a key part of this approach, helping people to manage their careers by offering practical advice to help identify strengths, make course choices, build a CV , and choose a career. SDS colleagues are also drawing on innovative new models of career coaching to deliver improved face-to-face and telephone services.
This model aims to give people the best possible chance to secure a fulfilling and sustainable career. The STUC is supportive of these developments and Scottish Union Learning is working with SDS to promote the importance of gaining career management skills to union members and workers throughout Scotland.
