Following feedback from unions, Scottish Union Learning has re-developed our ULR Development Days/Local Learning Forums and re-launched these as Union Learning Development Days. Taking place biannually, the Union Learning Development Days will have a focussed workshop, and will look at how to support and develop local union-led learning activity. The local Trades Union Councils will contribute to the discussions on the need for local networks of trade union reps and activists.

Workshop info

The workshops have been developed in response to the Spring iteration of Union Learning Development Days, at which there was discussion around the work of Fife and Tayside Trades Councils in tackling discrimination in workplaces and communities.

The workshops are funded through the United Workplaces Fund. The United Workplaces Fund has been established by the STUC with funding support from the Scottish Government, to enable trade unions to pilot and develop new activities tackling the rising threat of prejudice, hate, discrimination, and polarisation in workplaces.

Show Racism the Red Card will facilitate a workshop which will look at where misinformation comes from, the negative impact of racism and discrimination and how, within a union-led learning context, discrimination can be tackled. The content for the second workshop is to be confirmed.
