Working in the Gàidhealtachd - What does Gaelic culture mean to us? Ag Obair air a’ Ghàidhealtachd - Dè tha cultar Gàidhlig a’ ciallachadh dhuinn?

Tuesday, 16th June, 11am-1pm

Online

Led by Rhona NicDhùghaill (a creative producer, community arts worker and Gaelic speaker from Oban) and Alice Stillman (an artist and new resident of Mull who grew up in Norfolk), we’ll explore the Gaelic term Gàidhealtachd (as opposed to Highlands) and reflect on our own roots and routes in and to the region. We’ll look at different cultural approaches to “introductions” or “sowing familiarity” and experiment with some of our own. Originally delivered as the first of a series of three sessions, this participatory taster workshop gives those with or without Gaelic heritage an opportunity to explore a deeper understanding of what Gaelic culture means for working and workplaces in the contemporary Gàidhealtachd.

Supported by CHARTS (Culture Heritage and Arts Assembly, Argyll and Isles), the Scottish Artists Union and Scottish Union Learning.
