Digital Unions: Training Opportunities Available

Training opportunities in the form of workshops and taster sessions are now available to unions and union members through the Scottish Union Learning Digital Unions Project.

This is a great way to learn digital skills in a fun and social environment.

Aberdeen City Council Workers Celebrate New Qualifications through Trade Union Learning

UCATT and Unite the Union have invited Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Employability and Training, to celebrate the achievements of workplace learners at Aberdeen City Council, and present them with certificates on Monday, 28 November. The unions organised learning and support to 297 Aberdeen City Council Workers over the last two years. Learning was delivered free to workers through financial support from the Learning Fund, which is administered by Scottish Union Learning and supported by the Scottish Government.

2016 Union Learner of the Year Announced

Lauren McDonald, 2016 Learner of the YearScottish Union Learning, which is part of the Scottish TUC, has announced that the 6th Annual Learner of the Year is Lauren McDonald, a Communication Workers Union (CWU) member and Modern Apprentice at BT Dial House in Glasgow. Lauren was chosen as the 2016 Learner of the Year because of her exemplary commitment to learning as a young worker.

Organising Union Learning: Developing Workforce Skills

Trade union members from across Scotland will come together on Tuesday, 8 November 2016, at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow, to attend the 9th Annual Scottish Union Learning Conference. The theme of the Conference will be, ‘Organising Union Learning: Developing Workforce Skills’. This national conference will bring together 150 representatives from 24 trade unions.
